Metamorphosis of Love

Pinterest LinkedIn

Love, I say..
Can live many lives
And die many deaths

Love breathes..
Through long sentences & unspoken words
Stolen stares and meaningless emojis

Love heals..
With comfort foods and warm platters
In aromas that touch your soul

Love hums..
Through a song once shared together
Or a verse recited halfway

Love flows..
Through a quick call to check if you reached home
Or wrapped in a late good night text

Love hides..
Behind fixed tires and filled gas tanks
Between warm folds of laundry and piles of stocked groceries

Love simmers..
With late night chai and left over desserts
After little ones are tucked in bed, resting dreams

Love grows..
Inside you
From leaps of fleeting moments
To waves of passing years

Love blooms..
Watered by kindness and forgiveness
Sparkling and glistening on rainy days

Love shines..
Through the pretty and the ugly
In the cold and the cozy

Love holds..
Unfiltered, unedited
In the glow and the wrinkles

Love stands…
Tall, through the sleepless nights
In loud tantrums
And quiet tears

Love grounds..
In sickness that breaks us
In the pain that heals us
In the loss that completes us

Love brews..
Along rushed smiles out the door
And in slow hugs that say welcome home

Love moves..
In walks together reliving ordinary days
Or hours of aimless couch chats
Sketching plans and weaving dreams

Love wins..
In coffee surprises and planned destinations
Or last minute dates and canceled vacations

Love lives..
Through long, long days that sway
And short lived years that slip away
Where ever this love takes us today

May we find us
Right, next to each other
Starlit and placid like the Ever After
Spellbound and smitten like the first days

This felt like a soft breeze or a hum of words in a place that someone finds comfortable. The repetition of “Love” made me think about how loving seems to be an everyday choice. Alhamdulillah, to be loved and to love :)
