Dearest human,
Yesterday I witnessed the sky moments before and after a sudden burst of rain. The giant clouds darkened and danced in unison. They came to a halt and released their legions of water, showering the earth and begging it to come to life once again. The rain ended just as fast as it began, the sun gleamed through the clouds, and I was left wondering in the aftermath of the transformative beauty I witnessed.
Initially, the storm clouds surround you in every direction, with no end in sight. There is a palpable fear that mimics the darkness around, a looming dread that the shadows revive and prey on your most vulnerable pieces. A gentle breeze glides over you, threatening to stir chaos. Only the stillness stays, an eerie calm that is misleading in nature.
Ya Al-Baseer, please witness my invisible war and grant this broken heart some relief.
The raindrops start to fall. Slowly at first, but they build and build until you are in the middle of the storm you tried to flee. I know sometimes the storm is unrelenting in its onslaught, seemingly ready to destroy every semblance of sanity that you have carefully crafted for yourself. The droplets pierce directly into your heart, each one searing deeper and deeper until your own body refuses to support the weight you tried to carry. You are left gasping for air—drowning within this storm with no end in sight.
Desperation ensues and from somewhere deep inside you find the strength to call out for help.
Ya Al-Haadi, please guide me back towards You.
A spark of light appears. The sun peeks through and illuminates the clouds, as if they are glowing from within—iridescent. The light feels divine in its nature, a gift from God Almighty Himself. The serenity is no longer sinister, it feels well-deserved, clearing the hidden fears of your heart.
Ya An-Noor, allow me to experience the light every time I am drowning in despair.
Now, the clouds are scattered all around you. You know, I’ve always loved clouds, loved the way they are so unapologetic in their existence, how they brighten the blue sky in the simplest of ways, how I can test the limits of my imagination with their form. I used to craft stories with the shapes I deciphered, basking in the innocence of a child’s naivete. And now here I am, crafting these duas for you after witnessing this miracle sent from the Heavens above.
I pray that the clouds remain a constant companion in this unknown journey, through these unyielding storms.
I pray that His light illuminates you from within, inspiring your fragile heart to reach the hearts of all those you love and inspires a kaleidoscope of love, with worship of God Almighty at the very center.
I pray that the rain purifies you in the way you need, but never destroys you.
I pray that the storm never causes you to lose sight of what is real and important.
I pray that your heart opens up to receive all the love it is meant to, without complexity or wonder.
I pray you find the hearts that stay with you always, amongst the many storms, the many seasons of life.
I pray you hold tightly to the rope connecting you to your Creator.
May the light of you—your inner light—peek through each moment and guide you back towards Him always.
May His Light be the source of all the goodness in your life.
Ya Al-Walee, please remain by my side always, protecting me from the storms in this world.
Ya Al-Wadud, please envelope me in your love, in your mercy, in your light, so I can return to You always.
With Love.
